Administration

ADMINISTRATION & MANAGEMENT

The daily operations of our cemeteries, columbaria and the mausoleum are managed by an Operations Manager and the financial affairs are administered by the Secretary/Treasurer. Both these positions report to a Board of Directors, which consists of various individuals drawn from the Roman Catholic parishes throughout the city. This Board is responsible to the Diocese and the Bishop and meets regularly at dates and times decided upon by the Directors and the cemetery management.

BY-LAWS

All cemeteries in Ontario are regulated by the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services, Cemeteries Regulation Branch.  The regulations set forth in the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, ensure the rights of the public are protected. Separate from the provincial regulations, each cemetery is allowed to set its own by-laws governing its operations. The focus of the by-laws is to ensure the cemetery is run effectively; the by-laws must be approved by the Registrar, Ministry of Government and Consumer Services, Cemeteries Regulation Branch .

By-laws for the Operation of St. Mary's and Holy Cross Cemeteries are available at our administrative offices at 132 Golf Club Road in North Bay. You may obtain your own copy by emailing us at info@nbrcc.ca . As a service to the community, the bylaws are also contained in Adobe (pdf) format.  Click here to view.
